Not everyone is seemingly in favor with plans by the village of Lake Odessa and its Downtown Development Authority board to expand its boundaries and eliminate a sunset date from a village ordinance that helped establish the DDA two decades ago. Odessa Twp. Board rejects Jordan Lake Trail proposal in split vote

In a split vote, the Odessa Township Board on Sept. 8 rejected an offer by the Jordan Lake Trail Board that might have finally ended a dispute over nearly $10,000 that trail board members claim the township has wrongly withheld. The township board voted, 3-2, to defeat a motion that would have ended the dispute by having the township pay half of the more than $9,900 it has withheld from the JTLB, reportedly to pay for legal and title fees incurred by the township.... Initial plan for new Lake Odessa fire station carries hefty price tag

The members of the Odessa Township Board and local residents finally learned of the potential price tag for a new fire station, and for some, the news may have led to a case of sticker shock. Lake Odessa still looking for a new village manager

The Lake Odessa Village Council is back to square one, again, in its search for a new, permanent manager, with a third consecutive candidate withdrawing his name from consideration. The latest candidate, Department of Public Works Supervisor Jesse Trout, informed village officials that he was ending negotiations with interim Village Manager Gregg Guetschow and President Karen Banks to take on a dual role that included him serving as the village’s top administrator, according to Guetschow....
