LANSING — A powerful new radio program celebrating the voices and stories of America’s veterans is coming to Mid-Michigan. Beginning this month, listeners can tune in to a brand-new weekly show featuring all-original music created by active-duty service members, veterans, and veteran spouses.
The program airs Sundays from 9 to 10 a.m. on 94.1 The Duke FM and is brought to listeners through a partnership with Operation Encore, a national nonprofit dedicated to empowering veterans through music and songwriting.
The show is proudly sponsored by the VFW National Home, an organization committed to supporting veterans, military families, and their children.
Each week, the show will spotlight original songs written and performed by military-connected artists from across the country. Beyond the music, the program provides listeners with a deeper connection to the stories, experiences, and creative voices of those who have served.
“This show is about giving veterans a platform to be heard in a meaningful way,” said Joanie Kilchermann, radio and digital media consultant with Midwest Communications. “The music is authentic, powerful, and deeply personal. We’re honored to bring these stories to the airwaves and grateful to Operation Encore and the VFW National Home for making this possible.”
Operation Encore works nationwide to help veterans process their experiences and build community through music. The VFW National Home’s sponsorship underscores its ongoing commitment to innovative programs that support healing, connection, and family stability for veterans.
Listeners can tune in every Sunday morning from 9 to 10 a.m. on 94.1 The Duke FM to experience the music, stories and voices of those who have served.
