Judge rules against Montcalm County chief assistant prosecutor’s request to be placed on ballot

A judge ruled against the Montcalm County chief assistant prosecutor’s request that the county clerk be ordered to place the prosecutor’s name on an election ballot.

Ryan Villet of Stanton filed a lawsuit against Kristen Millard in her capacity as county clerk. Villet’s lawsuit requested a writ of mandamus (an order from a judge to a government official ordering them to fulfill a duty).
