The Belrockton Historical Museum was the site of the “Our Own Backyards” flower show in late July, a two-day event hosted by the Belding Gardeneers where local horticulturists showed off the best examples of their craft, eventually winning ribbons for “best in show.” It was the first time the club has held an official flower show since 1995. The Belding Gardeneers were established in 1969. Founding member Maggie Jones was president of the club 50 years ago, and she was in charge of this year’s flower return. She said the flower shows ceased when the former president of the club moved away and nobody picked it up again.
