A special meeting of the Belvidere Township Board on Wednesday began with resident Eric VanHouten begging board members, “I hope you will take this time to heal and move forward from what’s been going on in this township for far too long and get back to being the most boring township in Montcalm County, please and thank you.” However, questions were raised about the legality of the recent resignations of the clerk and trustee and barely 15 minutes into the meeting, it was abruptly adjourned due to the former clerk’s disruptive behavior.
