Montcalm County Sheriff Mike Williams’ repeated request for a jail administrator is finally advancing to the full Board of Commissioners — contingent upon the sheriff’s office continuing to provide concealed pistol license (CPL) fingerprinting services. Montcalm County commissioners met on Jan. 11 for their first new Committee-of-the-Whole format and voted 9-0 to recommend two requests from Williams to the full board: Increasing the part-time court security screener wage and allowing the sheriff to hire a jail administrator.
