The Montcalm County Brownfield Authority met for its annual organizational meeting on Wednesday on the third floor of the Montcalm County Administrative Building in Stanton. The purpose of the Brownfield Authority is to help redevelop local brownfield properties within the county. According to the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes & Energy, the brownfield program “collaborates within communities to create economic opportunities by putting contaminated properties back into productive use while protecting human health and the environment. "
