BELDING — Thank you to all the wonderful donors who support the Alvah N. Belding Library by giving memorials at the time of a family member or friends passing or as a remembrance of them at a special holiday or anniversary.
A Christmas remembrance donation was given for Gene & Marge McQueen by their granddaughter, Erin McQueen-Young, Erin’s husband Alan & their children Graham & Clare.
Adult non-fiction books in their memory are “Summers at the Lake: Upper Michigan Moments & Memories,” “Memories of a Mackinac Island Native,” “A Cast Away in Montana,” “Silk: a World History,” “Sandwiches of History: the Cook Book,” “So God made a Grandma: Caring, Faithful, Creative, Devoted, Wise, Generous, Resilient—Just Like You,” “The Lions Finally Roar: the Ford Family, the Detroit Lions, & the Road to Redemption in the NFL.”
An adult large print fiction book in memory of Marge & Gene is “Meet me on the Porch” by Erin Stevenson.
Books added to the children’s non-fiction collection in their memory are “Taste of Home Kids Can Cook!” and “If you find a Fawn: what to do for Wild Wanderers.”
Children’s fiction books were also added in their memory “Happy Father’s Days from the Crayons” and “Happy Mother’s Day from the Crayons.
These books are ready for circulation and have memorial plates with Marge and Genes names along with Erin and her family’s names; they will be remembered every time the books are opened.
