The Maple Valley Township Board has hired a new assessor, who also happens to be the assessor and supervisor of another nearby township. The Maple Valley Township Board voted 5-0 at their Dec. 9 meeting to hire Andrea Roberts as the new assessor after assessor Amanda Toomey gave her notice, according to Supervisor Bruce Deur.
