GREENVILLE — The Greenville City Council voted unanimously this evening to appoint Greenville resident David Seppala to fill a vacancy on the seven-member governing body.
Seppala was selected among eight candidates who applied to fill the vacancy left by the resignation of former council member Mark Lehman in November; though two candidates did not attend tonight’s in-person interviews.
Seppala works as the regional president of Isabella Bank, and has served on area boards that include EightCAP, the Greenville Area Chamber of Commerce, Montcalm County Habitat for Humanity, United Way of Greater Central Michigan, Greenville Area Community Foundation, Montcalm Economic Alliance, Danish Festival, Corewell Health Greenville Hospital and the Greenville Rotary Club.
Seppala was selected among seven other candidates which included Kevin Carlson, Laurie Mitchell, Stephen Dombroski, Donald Rumsey, Brittany Draper, Michael Draper and Lesa Wellman (Brittany Draper and Michael Draper were not in attendance).
Upon being sworn in, Seppala will serve until the next regular election in November of 2026. At that time, the remainder of the term, which expires at the end of 2028, will be on the ballot.
