Jury acquits Stanton woman of felony charges related to family altercation

A Montcalm County jury took less than an hour to acquit a Stanton woman of two felony charges (while the jury was eating lunch, no less) after a trial that featured a surprise secretly recorded video and the judge opining that a guilty verdict was likely. After a day and a half of testimony on Tuesday and Wednesday, the jury adjourned for lunch and deliberations at 1:30 p.m., returning before 2:30 p.m. to acquit Lorena Graves, 54, of assault with a dangerous weapon and weapons felony firearms charges.
