Yellow Jacket marching band finds its rhythm, resilience during band camp

Halfway through their annual week of band camp, with the temperature settled into a sizzling 86 degrees, the members of the Greenville High School Yellow Jacket marching band were understandably sweaty, hot and thirsty as they marched in the bowl of Legacy Field on Wednesday. With the sun beating down on the football stadium’s artificial field — and due to its inclusion of millions of small black rubber pellets within the turf — the “feels like” temperature for the students was easily another 5 to 10 degrees above what the weather report was indicating.
