Preparing to hand out the first poppy of the season, Quinnley Youngs, 7, appeared a bit nervous in embracing her duties as the this year's Poppy Girl for the Greenville American Legion Post 101 on Monday.
However, upon meeting and shaking hands with Mayor Jeff Scoby, the Walnut Hills Elementary School first-grader was all smiles as she took in her first donation and handed him a poppy.
