SPENCER TOWNSHIP – Six Greenville High School students sustained minor injuries in a school bus crash on Monday afternoon.
Kent County sheriff’s deputies responded to the single-vehicle crash involving a Greenville Public Schools bus around 3:10 p.m. on Lincoln Lake Avenue, just north of 17 Mile Road, in Spencer Township.
The school bus was traveling northbound when the driver experienced a medical emergency. The vehicle left the roadway, entered a ditch, and struck a tree. Thirteen high school-aged students were on board at the time of the crash.
Six students sustained minor injuries; two of the injured students were transported to area hospitals for evaluation. The bus driver was also transported for medical treatment related to the incident.
The Sheriff’s Office is working in partnership with Greenville Public Schools and Montcalm County Sheriff’s Office. The crash remains under investigation.
