The Grattan Township Board deadlocked on yet another draft of a proposed chicken ordinance on Monday evening. Various versions of the ordinance have been considered but rejected by the board for the past several months, most recently at their meeting in March. On Monday, the chicken ordinance was presented as two separate ordinances: A “chickens and other small domesticated animals” zoning ordinance and a “chicken licensing” regulatory ordinance.
