Driven by loss, focused on the future

Belding High School senior charts her own path to medicine

With her sights set on a career as a doctor — be it as a physician in the ER or as an anesthesiologist — there may be no Belding High School graduating senior with as firm a vision on their future than that of Carly Wigstadt. With a 3.9 GPA, which ranks ninth in her class; 13 college credits obtained through Montcalm Community College; certification as a certified nursing assistant (CNA); and receipt of Alma College’s top academic award — the Presidential Scholarship — Carly is as prepared for her next steps in education as any future college student could be.
