A $19.4 million reduction in the recently adopted $81 billion Michigan budget has left educators scrambling, with all funding cut for a program that coordinates early childhood services in each county across the state. On Friday, Montcalm Area Intermediate School District Superintendent Katie Flynn provided an update to her board, announcing that Section 32p funding, which supports the Great Start Collaborative (GSC), had been eliminated as part of the 2025-2026 state budget.
