Blaze destroys home on Baldwin Lake

Downed electrical lines, ‘roaring’ natural gas line rupture combine to engulf Greenville home in flames

Likely a casualty of the ice and wind brought by a winter storm Monday, a home on Baldwin Lake was destroyed in a fire after power lines fell upon the metal roof of the residence.

At approximately 11:20 a.m., the Greenville Department of Public Safety was dispatched to the call of a structure fire at 501 E. Baldwin Lake Drive on the east end of Baldwin Lake.
