Belding schools spend down fund balance to provide 5% teacher raises

Enrollment projected to decline by 10 students

With a slight decrease projected in enrollment and a need to spend down half a million dollars in general fund reserves, Belding Area Schools is once again proposing a balanced budget for its upcoming fiscal year. During Monday’s Board of Education meeting, members voted unanimously — with members Doug Lamborne, Shannon Hummel and Keven Krieger absent — to adopt the proposed 2025-2026 fiscal year budget presented by Executive Director of Finance Slater Martin.
