Tri County football player Vaughn Veltman was voted this week’s Daily News Athlete of the Week. Vaughn, a senior, had a 95-yard touchdown run for the Vikings in their 34-20 win over Sanford Meridian last Friday night, breaking the school record for the longest touchdown run. Other nominees were Molly Gray of Lakeview girls golf, Jeryn Frisbie of Belding boys cross country and Makenzie Rockafellow of Central Montcalm volleyball.
