Alex Culver of Tri County boys cross country was voted this week’s Daily News Athlete of the Week. Culver broke the school record with an 11th-place finish at their Division 2 regional at Benzie Central on Saturday with a time of 16:12.10 to qualify for the Division 2 state final this weekend at Michigan International Speedway for the third year in a row. Additionally, Culver was a dual-sport athlete, playing soccer as a starter and acting as a captain for both teams. Other nominees were Jamison Johns of Central Montcalm football, Ethan King of Belding football and Grace Coston of Central Montcalm girls cross country.
