BOSTON TOWNSHIP – Speed and alcohol are suspected to have been a factor in a crash that killed a Lowell woman in Boston Township on Saturday evening.

At approximately 6:04 p.m., Ionia County sheriff’s deputies responded to a two-car personal injury crash on Centerline Road near Pinckney Road.

The preliminary investigation found that a vehicle traveling east on Centerline crossed the middle line and struck another vehicle head-on.

One of the drivers, a woman from Lowell, was found unconscious and life-saving measures were attempted, but she died on the scene.

The occupants of the other vehicle were transported to Corewell Health/Butterworth Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The Ionia County Sheriff’s Office was assisted on scene by the Michigan State Police, Saranac Fire, Life EMS, Aeromed and Reed and Hoppes.
