‘A very quiet day’

Few voters participate in Tuesday’s local elections

The city of Stanton only had three unopposed positions on Tuesday’s ballot, but even so, Clerk Sarah Johnson was surprised to see the number of in-person voters barely break into the double digits on election day: 15 voters, to be exact. Charlies Miel, Jacky McGill and Lewis Corwin were all re-elected to the City Commission with 89, 77 and 75 votes respectively, with the majority of votes coming from absentee ballots.
