Belding school board votes to accept mental health, security funding from state despite ‘strings attached’

As school districts across the state review whether to accept state funds for mental health and security — now with “strings attached” — Belding Area Schools has decided to move forward and accept the funding.  During Monday’s meeting of the school board, members voted unanimously, with Vice President Shannon Hummel and Trustee Jennifer Lien absent, to accept Michigan Section 31aa funding.
