EUREKA TOWNSHIP — A chain-reaction crash involving three vehicles resulted in one person being treated for minor injuries Thursday afternoon.
At approximately 4:28 p.m., the Montcalm County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to the report of a personal injury accident at the intersection of S. Youngman and W. Wise roads.
According to Deputy Todd Graham, a driver of a gray Chevy Silverado pickup truck traveling westbound on W. Wise Road was waiting to turn left onto southbound S. Youngman Road as the driver of a black Chevy Malibu driving behind the pickup waited for the vehicle to turn.

A third vehicle, a maroon Dodge Ram pickup truck, then struck the Chevy Malibu, which was pushed into the Chevy Silverado, causing damage to all three vehicles.
After striking the Chevy Silverado, the impact of the crash forced the Chevy Malibu over the right shoulder of the road, where Graham said the vehicle struck a tree and came to a stop.
“The Malibu was waiting behind the first pickup when it was struck by the second pickup, sending the Malibu into the first pickup, and then off the road and into a tree,” he said. “The last vehicle in the stack didn’t stop. They tried to, but couldn’t stop in time.”
Graham said of the four individuals involved in the crash, one was transported from the scene by Montcalm County EMS for minor injuries.
“It was nothing life-threatening,” he said. “One person complained of pain, so they were transported as a precautionary measure.”
Graham would not confirm at the scene if any citations were issued as a result of the crash and said the cause of the crash remains under investigation.
The Greenville Department of Public Safety, Michigan State Police, Jerry’s Towing and Recovery, and Captain Hook’s Towing and Recovery assisted at the scene.
