MAUREEN BURNS: An angel among us on Sept. 11

My husband has a wonderful cousin, Norm Burns.

Norm was raised in Hubbardston and is a cousin to Don on both sides of his family (don’t ask!). He learned to fly in the Army, became a helicopter pilot in 1968 after completing Infantry Officer Candidate school.

Twenty years ago today, as terrorists crashed hijacked planes into the World Trade Center towers in New York City, Steve VanHolstyn was shocked as he observed the horrific images unfold on a television screen.
