After voters overwhelmingly shot down a wind energy ordinance, newly elected Maple Valley Township Board members made two changes and then voted to approve a new wind ordinance.

The board voted 4-0 last Monday, Dec. 12, in three separate motions to change turbine setbacks for non-participating properties from three times a turbine’s tip height to five times, to add Maston and Rainbow lakes to the wind ordinance language and then to approve the new wind ordinance.
