Voters in four townships in Montcalm County will decide on a number of ballot proposals.
Pine, Reynolds and Pierson townships have road-related proposals, with Pierson Township and Reynolds Township proposing a road funding special assessment and Pine Township proposing a new road millage.
Meanwhile, Ferris Township residents will be voting on a fire millage renewal.
Patience is key when waiting for election results, but Tuesday’s election had many Montcalm County township officials walking on eggshells.
Expired and new millages were proposed to voters and after waiting for results to come in, township leaders were either thrilled or disappointed with the tally.
Voters in three Ionia County townships approved fire and road millages in Tuesday’s election, while uncontested seats were filled by incumbents in four cities in Ionia and Montcalm counties.
Voter turnout was 8.62% in the city of Greenville and 9.10% in the city of Stanton for an average turnout of 8.72%, according to Montcalm County Clerk Kristen Millard.
