Observing the significance of the franchise returning to Greenville during a soft opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony on Thursday, the new store manager — who many locals will recognize — was all smiles and filled with excitement as she celebrated the coffee franchise’s opening.

Aldi and Starbucks move closer to opening in Greenville

A bargain grocery store and a popular coffee shop are both making progress toward opening in Greenville.

An Aldi supermarket is tentatively slated to be finished with construction by late summer or early autumn, while Starbucks may begin interior renovations as soon as this month — both to be located on the city’s west side.
