After more than three years of leading this county’s sole institution of higher learning, Montcalm Community College President Stacy Young is moving on to another position of leadership — at her alma mater.
On Monday, Young was named the 16th president at Manchester University in Indiana. Her first day at Manchester will be July 1, with her last day at MCC anticipated to be near the end of June.
In working toward hitting her 100-day benchmark as the new president of Montcalm Community College (MCC) last year, Stacy Young found herself hitting the reset button on how students learn and faculty teach.
Seventy-six days into her presidency, Dr. Young made the decision — along with every other community college in the state — to close the college campus, leaving students and faculty to finish the spring semester from their homes, as the coronavirus pandemic gripped the state, nation and world.
