The Spencer Township Planning Commission is looking to align its wind energy ordinance with the rest of Kent County’s northernmost townships in order to be consistent and present “a united front” for the possibility of wind development.
About 50 people attended a public hearing on Nov. 10 hosted by the Spencer Township Planning Commission regarding proposed changes to the township’s current wind ordinance. The current ordinance doesn’t restrict turbine height.
