When Frank and Tricia Race got married two years ago, some friends offered up as a wedding reception venue a property they had recently purchased: The former Burns-May 5602 VFW Hall.
As Frank and Tricia celebrated their marriage with family and friends, they became curious about the historic building at 2195 Fleck Road.
The newly appointed Belvidere Township clerk has resigned after just one week on the job.
Ashley Gonzalez was appointed township clerk on Jan. 24 after former longtime clerk Sheila Smith resigned on Jan. 11.
The postal clerk at the Six Lakes Post Office describes her job as “kind of like a little coffee shop,” where she hears all sorts of tidbits about community happenings.
Now Ashley Gonzales will be even more involved in her community as the new Belvidere Township clerk.
Inspired by gardening videos, Stephanie Barone decided to start Vining Flower Farm in 2021. At the end of July, the Six Lakes woman is expanding operations even further.
Starting under a different name, Barone and her husband Brian decided on the name Vining Flower Farm while driving home one day.
One local woman was recognized for the difference she makes in her club and her community, and another was seated as a state officer at the General Federation of Women’s Clubs Michigan state convention on April 21-24.
