Wanting to provide the community with adequate places to walk, play, relax and explore for the upcoming future, the Belding City Council approved a five-year recreation plan on Tuesday.
The recreation plan, lasting from 2022 to 2026, as recommended by the city’s Recreation Advisory Committee, was approved in a 4-0 vote with Councilwoman Bonita Steele absent.

Montcalm Community College’s Recreation and Fitness Center, in the Activities Building on the college’s Sidney campus, offers a variety of recreational options to keep you moving. Hours are Mondays through Thursdays from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m., Fridays from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 4 to 8 p.m., and Saturdays and Sundays from noon to 4 p.m. Visit montcalm.edu/recreation for more information and hours for individual activities.

Montcalm Community College will host drop-in soccer July 28 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Black Field in Greenville.
This is the MCC’s first step toward establishing club sports at the college, according to Director of Facilities Taylor Male, who also oversees the college’s Recreation Department.
