Ionia County clerk begins first step of digitizing records

The Ionia County Clerk’s Office has taken a first step in bringing all its records into the digital age.

The Ionia County Board of Commissioners voted 6-0 on Tuesday, with Commissioner Larry Tiejema absent, to accept an $11,700 bid from Applied Imaging to convert clerk’s office records from microfilm to PDF format, a process which will take about six weeks. The records are about 80% Circuit Court records and about 20% military discharges.
