Garbage truck snags power lines in Greenville

No one was injured Monday after a garbage truck accidentally snagged power, cable and telephone lines, snapping two poles in the process. 

At approximately 9:38 a.m. the Greenville Department of Public Safety was dispatched to the report of a work truck having pulled down power lines on W. Bluff Street, which were also reported to be smoking and sparking. 

Aerial patrols of transmission lines May 17-27

The ITC will be conducting aerial patrols of the high-voltage transmission structures and lines in Michigan in May and early June, weather permitting.

Aerial inspections will be done in Ionia and Montcalm counties from May 17-27.

ITC to conduct aerial patrols of transmission lines in Michigan

Local inspections set for late May and early June

ITC will be conducting aerial patrols of the high-voltage transmission towers and lines in Michigan from approximately May 17 through June 17, weather permitting.

The helicopter patrols are conducted to provide an overall status of the overhead transmission system that is operated by ITC’s Michigan operating entities, ITC Transmission and Michigan Electric Transmission Company LLC (METC).
