A Sheridan woman pleaded guilty to driving under the influence third offense while saying she doesn’t remember the incident.
Pamela Seeley, 62, reluctantly entered her plea on April 14 in Montcalm County Circuit Court. Her plea is part of an agreement with the Montcalm County Prosecutor’s Office and will result in a six-month jail cap for the felony (which carries a maximum five-year prison sentence).

A Mulliken man facing multiple charges in the motor vehicle death of a Sunfield woman in August 2021 entered a not-guilty plea at his arraignment last week in Ionia County Circuit Court.

An Eaton County man who claimed to be a sovereign citizen was convicted of multiple drunken driving-related charges after an incident near Sheridan.
James Charles North, 74, of Bellevue pleaded guilty on Dec. 13, 2021, to operating under the influence of liquor third offense. He also pleaded no contest to assaulting or resisting and obstructing a police officer, operating while license suspended or revoked second offense, receiving and concealing less than $200, unlawful use of a license plate and transporting alcohol that was open or uncapped in a vehicle.

A request for driver’s license restoration raised the ire of an Ionia County judge when it turned out the man making the request apparently hadn’t been honest during the process, leading the man to storm out of the courtroom.
Randy Richard Hatch, 57, of Muir was given back his license only in part by a Michigan Secretary of State (SOS) hearings officer. Hatch appeared in front of Ionia County Circuit Court Judge Suzanne Kreeger on Feb. 1 to appeal his decision and ask for his full driving privileges to be restored.

A Saranac woman was allegedly under the influence when she rolled her car, injuring a young child in the back seat.
Marijaine Victoriya Ganther, 26, is charged with operating while intoxicated causing injury, possession of methamphetamine/ecstasy and reckless driving causing serious impairment of a body function.
