Cedar Springs teenager wins showmanship sweepstakes at the Montcalm County Fair
Beginning as a 4-H Cloverbud at the age of 6, Meghan Trippiny has long demonstrated a loyalty to the oaths of 4-H, pledging her head to clearer thinking, heart to greater loyalty, hands to larger service and health to better living.
But for Trippiny, 14, of Cedar Springs there’s one additional, a personal pledge she holds close to every year at the annual Montcalm County Fair — a willingness to compete and succeed.
Chloe Arnold named Montcalm County 4-H’er of the Year
As a first-year 4-H’er 13 years ago, Chloe Arnold experienced all the joys and disappointments showing an animal could offer.
Having spent a year enjoying the experience of learning how to properly show rabbits and cavies, Arnold was devastated to discover that despite her hard work, she was disqualified because her rabbit was a breed not eligible for competition.
