With some help from a $300,000 Michigan Natural Resources Trust Fund (MNRTF) grant, the Crystal Township Board is now taking the first steps to bring its long-awaited park project to fruition.
Last week, MNRTF and Gov. Gretchen Whitmer announced 117 recreation development projects and land acquisitions, totaling $45,592,200, will be funded in 2022.
The Crystal Township Board hasn’t heard back yet from the Michigan Natural Resources Trust Fund (MNRTF) in regards to a park grant application, but township officials are hopeful.
For the past two years, the Crystal Township Board submitted a grant application the MNRTF to help fund some major improvements to Crystal Township Park. Neither grant application resulted in the township seeing any money.
