Lakeview girls soccer’s struggles continue in CSAA play, fall to Fremont, 6-1
Courtney Grant turned on a ball just outside the 18-yard box and launched it high. The ball curved right-to-left and found the upper-right hand corner of the net, sparking a joyous celebration for the Lakeview girls soccer team.
The goal tied the game against Fremont at 1-1 with 16:35 to play in the first half Wednesday at the Wildcats’ soccer field. The Packers had opened the scoring just 94 seconds before Grant’s goal with a corner kick that found its way into the net off the far post. Momentum seemed to be in the balance, especially with Grant’s goal.

Lakeview baseball returns youthful team in windy opener against Kent City
Peyton Krantz had some nerves while warming up for Lakeview’s baseball opener against Kent City.
Thursday’s doubleheader marked the first time Krantz, a senior, suited up to play baseball for the Wildcats since 2019. After the 2020 season was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Krantz was anticipating having a solid 2021 campaign for the Wildcats. However, a broken tibia and fibula in his right leg prevented and kind of campaign — one of those, “what could have been” kind of circumstances for him.
