A man convicted of murdering a Hubbardston woman in 2006 was recently resentenced nearly a decade after the Michigan Court of Appeals ordered his resentencing due to his juvenile status at the time of the crime.

Justin DeWayne Stephens, age 24 at the time of his trial, was convicted by a jury in July 2011 of killing Bernita “Billie” Cunningham, 80, in her Hubbardston home in December 2006. Stephens was 17 years old at the time of the murder.
