Vestaburg to induct 11 athletes, five teams and a coach into 2021 Hall of Fame on Saturday
The Vestaburg Athletic Department will add 17 more names to its growing sports Hall of Fame on Saturday as the Wolverines induct the class of 2021.
Starting in 2019, the Vestaburg High School Hall of Fame has historically held its induction ceremonies at halftime of varsity basketball games in February. This year, the school announced it would honor the Hall of Fame inductees on Saturday at 5 p.m. in the Vestaburg High School commons.
Central Montcalm Athletic Hall of Fame announces 2022 HOF class at Friday’s varsity football game
After a year off from a class being announced, the Central Montcalm Athletic Hall of Fame made its return by announcing its next hall of fame class on Friday at the varsity football contest.
Central Montcalm celebrated its second annual class in January of 2020 but chose to skip and not induct a class in 2021 due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
The 2020 Ionia Public Schools Athletic Hall of Fame class had to wait over a full year for their in-person recognition but the wait is almost over as the class will be honored and recognized this weekend.
The IPS Athletic Hall of Fame committee decided to not elect a class of 2021 and will instead use this year to honor the 2020 class.
Greenville athletics to recognize 2020 and 2021 Hall of Fame classes this year
While there was no official induction ceremony last season, the Greenville Athletic Hall of Fame did not skip a year of inductees in 2020 and recently added to that list with the class of 2021 being announced.
The two classes were initially set to be recognized at the home football game against Byron Center this Friday, however, with the game now being canceled due to a positive COVID-19 case within the Greenville football program, the induction ceremony will be rescheduled for a later date.
Jan Matson of Sheridan was inducted into the Michigan State United States Bowling Congress (USBC) Hall of Fame for Meritorious Service.
Shortly after Jan began her bowling career in 1972, she was asked to become the secretary/treasurer of the Sheridan Women’s Bowling Association in 1976.
