After completing his first year at the helm of Ionia Public Schools, Superintendent Ben Gurk received his first evaluation Monday — a near-perfect score.
During a special meeting of the Board of Education at Ionia Middle School, the board entered into an executive session for about 45 minutes with Gurk to perform his evaluation.
Continuing to rebuild relationships and advocating for more economic development on the county’s east side are two of the Montcalm County controller-administrator’s goals for the coming year.
The Montcalm County Board of Commissioners gave Controller-Administrator Brenda Taeter her second annual evaluation during the May 9 Committee-of-the-Whole meeting. The evaluation was held in an open session, as was last year’s evaluation — a nod to the importance of transparency to the taxpayers of this county.

During Tuesday’s meeting of the Greenville City Council, the council entered into a closed, executive session at the request of Bosanic to review his annual evaluation. After about 45 minutes in closed session, the council returned to open session, announcing Bosanic had performed his job at a “very good to excellent” level, from Sept. 1, 2020, through Aug. 31, 2021.
