‘Large-scale drug supplier’ for Montcalm, Newaygo counties sentenced to prison

An alleged “large-scale drug supplier for Montcalm and Newaygo counties” with ties to a Texas drug cartel was sentenced to up to 20 years in prison.

Edward Kenneth Kolehouse, 44, of Howard City was charged with delivery or manufacturing methamphetamine second offense, possession of analogues second offense, possession of LSD second offense and receiving and concealing stolen property from a motor vehicle. He pleaded guilty on Dec. 2, 2021, to the meth charge.

Former Lake Odessa pharmacist sentenced to jail

A former Lake Odessa pharmacist was sentenced to jail time after previously pleading guilty to two counts of delivery of a controlled substance.

William Walker, 64, of Lake Odessa also lost his pharmaceutical license. Walker pleaded guilty April 1 to two counts of delivery of a controlled substance involving amphetamine (Adderall) and oxycodone (Norco), both possible seven-year felonies.

Carson City prison official sentenced for drug contraband

A Carson City Correctional Facility corrections officer is now in jail himself for repeatedly bringing drugs inside his workplace.

John Benjamin Russell, 35, of Belding previously pleaded guilty to furnishing contraband to a prisoner in prison, including marijuana, heroin and suboxone.
