Though he was the overall winner of the Spectrum Health Danish Dash, University of Pennsylvania track and cross country team member Titus Bretzke didn’t believe his time met his high standards.
The scenic 5K run/walk took place Saturday morning with mild temperatures and tolerable humidity, perfect weather for running.
The Danish Dash 5K run/walk and kids half mile fun run/walk stroll into town the morning of Aug. 20 as part of this year’s Greenville Danish Festival. This is an all-around fun race and one you won’t want to miss!
Both the 5K run/walk and the kids fun run/walk will take place at Baldwin Heights Elementary School, located at 821 W. Oak Street in Greenville.
The Spectrum Health Danish Dash 5K Run/Walk returned to the Danish Festival this year albeit with a few changes to promote the safety of participants, volunteers and event staff.
After offering only a virtual event last year, race organizers this year had an open start line, an open staging area, no awards ceremony with results posted online only and medals mailed out, no Kids Fun Run and social distancing promoted.
Runners and walkers will again enjoy the natural beauty of Baldwin Lake in Greenville as the Spectrum Health Danish Dash returns to an in-person race format at 8 a.m. on Aug. 21.
The fan-favorite Dress Like a Dane contest also returns as participants deck themselves out in Danish attire to embrace Danish Festival weekend.
