Just over 20 years ago, I watched Michigan State’s TJ Duckett haul in a pass to defeat Michigan in a controversial game. I had no idea the scope of the rivalry (I was just 4 years old) but I loved watching my twin brother cry because “the team with the cool helmets” (Michigan) lost.

Cossou, a 2017 Greenville graduate now at Central Michigan University, was one of several former Greenville Yellow Jackets who returned to their hometown to help out at Justin Zimmer’s football camp. Zimmer, now in the NFL with the Buffalo Bills, hosted a youth camp on June 26.
As members of the Chippewa Marching Band tuba section belted out the “Fire Up Chips” rah-rah song, Central Michigan University (CMU) senior Johnathan Taft was left surprised during a Zoom call on Wednesday that saw him receive one year of free tuition.
Taft, 21, of Greenville was the first of four students at the university who will win scholarships equivalent to a full year of tuition because they participated in the college’s COVID-19 vaccine incentive program.
