Sparrow Carson Hospital is pleased to announce the opening of Sparrow Wound Care Services Carson, responding to a rapidly growing healthcare need.
Sparrow Wound Care Services Carson is an outpatient service offering a comprehensive approach for patients with non-healing wounds, such as diabetic foot ulcers, compromised tissue flaps/grafts and bony or soft tissue wounds resulting from radiation treatment. The clinic is located at Sparrow Carson Hospital, 406 E. Elm St., Carson City.
After a brief organizational meeting where new officers were elected, the Carson City-Crystal Area Schools Board of Education conducted a mid-year evaluation of the superintendent on Monday evening.

The Burns family of Carson City is having one of the best holidays of their lives this year after the Lori’s Voice non-profit gave them the Christmas present of a brand new wheelchair-accessible van for use by their son, Mason Burns.
The Burns family was selected from more than 300 applicants, and the van was presented to them at Clock Mobility, 6700 Clay Ave. SW, Grand Rapids on Thursday afternoon.
Except for a few years when he was serving in the United States Navy, Carson City’s new mayor Neil Kapustka was born, raised and has worked in town his entire life.
Kapustka has been on the City Council for 12 years. He ran unopposed for the position after the previous mayor, Tom McCrackin, decided he was finished and wanted to spend more time in Florida.
The Carson City Council had its latest regular meeting of 2022 on Tuesday.
The meeting lasted just under 20 minutes and was attended by seven local residents.

The Schoolhouse Quilt Guild of Carson City is a 40-member group of quilters who set a goal of making 300 book pillows by March 1, 2023, in time for March is Reading Month. The book pillows will be distributed among young readers at Carson City-Crystal Area Schools.

Library lovers ages 3 to 10 (and their adults) are invited to stop by either library for a kids craft kit to go. Each week beginning Nov. 21 through January, we will feature a different craft kit. Supplies will be limited.
The City Council of Carson City approved a new trash hauling contract with Granger during Tuesday’s meeting.
