With the last few strikes upon his bass drum, Aidin Slayton could only take but a moment to reflect upon an entire season and final performance he will undoubtedly carry with him for years to come.
Performing with his fellow members of the Belding High School Marching Band at Saturday’s Michigan Competing Bands Association State Finals in Flight V competition at Ford Field in Detroit, the 17-year-old senior wasn’t ready to see his final performance in black and orange come to an end.

The Lakeview Community Schools Board of Education will learn more about a proposed $33.6 million plan for repairs and upgrades to the district’s buildings and properties at its meeting tonight.
The board is scheduled to meet at 7 p.m. in the Lakeview High School Media Center.
Belding senior places 6th at D2 state cross country finals

Making her fourth straight appearance at the cross country state finals in the final race of her career, nothing was going to stop Julia Finley.
The Belding senior wasn’t nervous for her last race, she was excited, she was beaming with joy and she left everything she had out on the course at Michigan International Speedway on Saturday.

A pedestrian man was killed from injuries sustained in a crash in Sebewa Township on Saturday evening.
At approximately 7:05 p.m., troopers from the Michigan State Police Lakeview Post responded to a car versus pedestrian crash on S. State Road, south of Goodemoot Road.
