Lakeview Terrace celebrated its 7th anniversary with a fun-filled carnival on July 30.
The afternoon started with a carnival-style lunch with corndogs, chips, and fruit. They also enjoyed cocktails, elephant ears, cotton candy and snow cones that were provided by Interim Home Health & Hospice.

With Carson City-Crystal Area Schools voters having approved a bond proposal in Tuesday’s election, district officials are now getting ready to pursue improvements to benefit students and staff alike.
CC-C’s bond proposal passed with 628 “yes” votes to 310 “no” votes. The school district saw an overall 16% voter turnout.

I love science. I’m not smart enough to understand most of it, but what little I do understand, I love.
I’m old enough to remember the advent of the microwave oven, color television, video cassettes (Beta and VHS), CDs, DVDs. As a kid, I lusted after an electric typewriter, but alas, such marvels of technology were beyond the reach of my paltry allowance.

Molly Dailey started her upward trajectory for Carson City-Crystal running in her sophomore year.
Qualifying for the state finals as a sophomore year in the 800-meters in track, Dailey placed All-State and finished eighth in Division 4. It looked as if she’d continue to improve and possibly make a push for more All-State accolades in the coming years in both track and cross country.
More spending at wastewater treatment plant likely coming following concerns from EGLE

Needing to address some ongoing issues with the city’s wastewater treatment plant, the Belding City Council on Tuesday approved a $415,000 purchase to remove the sludge from one of the city’s lagoons.
With there being a total of five lagoons at the city’s wastewater treatment plant, more costs are likely on the way.

The 25th edition of the Crystal Run the Lake race is set to take place Saturday and race coordinator Janet Shy said the event is seeing record numbers during registration.
There are two races within the event — one going three miles and the other going five. Both races are completed with a view of the lake the complete way. Registration for the event starts at 6:45 a.m., with the five-mile race to begin at 8. The three-mile race will begin around 9 a.m.

In reviewing a request to remove a single tree from the city’s historic downtown district, officials are asking more time and thought be given to such a decision.
During Tuesday’s meeting of the Greenville City Council, City Manager George Bosanic presented a recommendation from the Greenville Downtown Development Authority (DDA) to remove a locust tree within the city right-of-way in front of Flo’s Pizzeria Ristorante & Sports Bar on S. Lafayette Street (M-91).
