Employees, community members donate blood to save lives  

Herbruck’s Poultry Ranch employees and community members on July 28 donated blood at a blood drive hosted by Herbruck’s through a partnership with the American Red Cross. This is Herbruck’s fourth blood drive of the year to help the Red Cross, which is in critical need of donors.

Izzy Doyle was one of the many athletes in the precarious position of having her junior sports season taken away due to the coronavirus pandemic.

In a time where athletes are at their height of attention from college scouts, the star softball pitcher for Central Montcalm was stripped of that opportunity due to hear season being canceled.

Ionia County board forms committee to consider Pitsch landfill expansion proposed for Otisco Township

The owners of an Ionia County landfill are asking the county board of commissioners for permission to expand into a second township, and take in more waste from outside the county.

Gary Pitsch of Pitsch Recycle and Disposal Inc., which operates the 143.5-acre Pitsch Sanitary Landfill in Orleans Township, attended the April 27,  May 11 and May 18 meetings to discuss amendments he is proposing to the Ionia County Solid Waste Plan.
