Spots still available for Wounded Soldier Softball Tournament
The Wounded Soldier Softball Tournament will be held June 25-27 in Greenville.
There are still spots open for teams to participate in this fundraising event. This year will mark the seventh annual event with proceeds benefitting service men, women and families who have been injured in the line of duty.

Crystal Township Board debates renewable energy ordinance
While multiple townships within Montcalm County are working on creating wind and solar energy ordinances, Crystal Township is taking a different route.
The township has been told that Apex Clean Energy currently is not looking at Crystal for its proposed Montcalm Wind project; however, the majority of township officials also aren’t necessarily in a hurry to create any major restrictions against wind turbines at this time.

Police arrest alleged reckless RV driver after lengthy chase
FREEA woman driving an RV was arrested on Saturday afternoon after she allegedly led police from several agencies on a chase, during which multiple patrol and civilian vehicles were damaged, and a Kent County sheriff’s deputy was injured.
